New year, new shoes...wait, that’s the saying right?

For many of us 2020 brings a whole lot of change- a new decade can definitely shift things! But if you’re anything like our shoe-obsessed selves then you may be paying attention to what models wore on their feet when they strutted down late 2019/2020 runways.

After a decade of 90’s inspired, low-heeled shoes and mules, 2020 brings colour, modern takes on loved traditionals and a breath of new life into your wardrobe.  Here we will break down all the shoe trends we have observed and can expect from this year.

THE UPGRADED LOAFER

The biggest shoe trend in 2020 which fashion magazines like Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire predict is loafers. But these aren’t any old ‘stuffy office-wear’ loafers. 2020 welcomes a new wave of loafers coming in all different shapes, sizes, colours and materials.

One of the main trends we are seeing in 2020 in loafers are the open heel.

Add some spice to your office outfit with these six gorgeous loafer options avaliable at Easy Living Footwear.

MINIMAL STRAPS

Another trend that you can expect to see in 2020 is minimal coloured shoes with STRAPS! Minimalism is definitely taking new form in next season's footwear. But minimalist shoe colours and designs are anything from boring- with asymmetric straps being a massive trend to follow. Designers have had fun repositioning and reconfiguring the straps of shoes just in time for 2020.

Here’s our faves.

BOWS

Another feature that has made a remarkable comeback in 2020 is the beloved bow. Many fashion brands like Prada, Chanel and Gucci in Paris and Milan fashion week late 2019 saw their models dressed in cute mules, slip ons, sandals and flats decked out with carefully curated bows. If you’re worried about the bow making your shoes too ‘girly’, don’t be concerned- this year's trend revealed bows come in all shapes and sizes.
